Renowned Seattle guitarist, drummer and composer whose lines are boppish and melodic. Petersen has been active in the Pacific Northwest jazz community since the late 70’s. He’s performed with some of the world’s finest, including Joe Sample, Ernestine Anderson, Herb Ellis, Mose Allison and more, in addition to recording two CDs with master drummer Elvin Jones.
At 5:00pm- Featuring student performers from Music Works Northwest, a non-profit community music school offering music lessons, music therapy and performance experiences for all ages, conveniently located minutes from downtown Bellevue. Their mission is to change lives through accessible music education and experiences.
The Honors Ensemble strives to bring together some of the finest high school and middle school jazz musicians in Seattle to explore the art of jazz. The small group dynamic emphasizes ensemble performance and improvisation while exploring the history of jazz by playing compositions by many of its greatest artists.
At 7:30pm-Join us for a party celebrating the latest release by vocalist Kelly Eisenhour, “Invitation!” Also featuring the Green River Jazz Voices from GRCC, as well as local favorites, the Max Cannella Quartet.
Kelly is an elegant vocalist specializing in jazz standards, blues and soulful R&B. A wonderful improviser, musician and educator, she features many of her own original arrangements & compositions. Her many accomplishments include productions with Gladys Knight, such as the 2006 Grammy award-winning “One Voice,” as well as a tour with the Boston Pops Orchestra conducted by Keith Lockhart. She’s currently the Choral Director at Green River Community College in Auburn, WA. “Kelly Eisenhour is a prolific vocalist…she proves to be a seasoned professional with plenty of talent to handle any piece that comes her way.”
